Vacation Studentships

In the spring each year, the Trust offers a small number of Vacation Studentships to enable undergraduate veterinary or other appropriate biological science students in the UK to work on research projects related to avian and particularly poultry diseases during the summer vacation of that year. The purpose of the awards is to provide undergraduates with experience of research and to encourage them to consider a career in avian disease research. This funding will be awarded following assessment of applications by members of the Trust.

The studentships provide support at a rate of £300 per week for a period of between 6 and 8 weeks. An additional sum of up to £400 for specific research costs may also be awarded.

Grants are awarded to the Institution to which the applicant belongs, not to the supervisor, on the understanding that it will administer the award. Applications may be made on the Vacation Studentship application form.

Deadline for applications is 30th April each year.
